Bus People is a synth pop band fronted by singer and keyboardist Aley Waterman and guitar/bass player Scott Sheppard. Now a 5-piece, the band originated in November of 2020 on the Scorpio Supermoon and started writing fun pop tracks centered around the lofi beats and sounds of a Yamaha Portasound. Since then they’ve garnered album grants from ArtsNL and MusicNL in support of their first album Starcade, and they’ve played festivals including Lawnya Vawnya and CBNuit. Their first album takes inspiration from acts including Portishead, Beach House, and The Pixies.
